Shammo has travelled from Bangladesh to the Atherton Tablelands, where he is passionate about supporting children and families in a compassionate and playful way. From an early age, he was involved in serving children through his church and local community, and has continued this work in a variety of remote areas across Bangladesh.
Shammo first became familiar with Occupational Therapy while living near one of Asia’s largest rehabilitation centres. He has vivid memories of people with diverse needs and their inspiring journeys, which helped shape his passion for working with children. Growing up, he also saw his parents dedicate many years to a non-government organisation supporting underprivileged children, which further motivated him to use his own skills and knowledge to make a difference.
In his work, Shammo has supported children with a wide range of needs and enjoys bringing creativity, energy and fun into his sessions. He finds it especially rewarding to be part of the moments that bring smiles to children and their families and is known for his light-hearted nature and sense of humour.
Outside of work, Shammo enjoys spending time in nature and with his family. He considers himself a beach lover and values the opportunity to relax and recharge by the water. He also has a strong interest in travelling to different countries, enjoys playing soccer, and being a part of choir at his church.
